Licensed service

A Fire Stick turns almost any TV with an HDMI port into a Smart TV, which makes it a popular way to watch IPTV in Canadian homes. Here is what to know before you start.

Check your model first

Fire Sticks come in several generations, and older ones are slower. Tell your provider the exact model so they can confirm it before you start. A Fire TV built into a TV works too.

Use a good connection

Wi-Fi in the next room can be weaker than you think. If the picture buffers, try moving the router, using a wired connection through an adapter, or reading how much internet speed IPTV needs.

The remote

The Fire Stick remote handles navigation and volume. If you lose it, the Fire TV phone app can replace it, and a spare remote is cheap.

One screen or several

If more than one TV in the house will watch at once, count the screens when you choose a plan. On our plans page you can pick 1 to 4 devices and see the price.

Other devices

Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Nvidia Shield and many Smart TVs also work. See the full list or compare box, Fire Stick and Smart TV.

Getting started
